Claudia Robles-Angel

She is an interdisciplinary artist, born in 1967, in Bogotá-Colombia, currently living in Cologne-Germany and active worldwide. Her work and research cover different aspects of visual and sound art, which extend from audiovisual fixed-media compositions to performances and installations interacting with bio-data via the usage of interfaces such as, for example, EEG (electroencephalogram, measuring brain waves activity), GSR (Galvanic Skin Response) and other.
She finished studies in Fine Arts (BFA / MFA) in Bogotá (Colombia). She pursued postgraduate studies such as: Film Animation at the CFP (Milan-Italy); MFA in Visual Arts at the École Supérieure d’Art Visuel ESAV (since 2006 HEAD) Geneva (Switzerland) and Sound art and Electronic Composition at the Folkwang University of the Arts Essen (Germany).
She has been artist-in-residence in diverse art centres, among the most prominent: the ZKM – Centre for Art and Media in Karlsruhe and at the KHM in Cologne, both in Germany.

Her work is constantly featured in not only new media and sound-based festivals/conferences but also in group and solo exhibitions around the globe, for example, the ZKM Centre in Karlsruhe; KIBLA Multimedia Centre in Maribor, Bauhaus Museum für Gestaltung Berlin, Enter3 in Prague, at the European Capitals of Culture Luxembourg and Romania; the International Computer Music Conferences ICMC in Copenhagen, Montréal and Utrecht, Festival Internacional de la Imagen in Manizales, LIMb0 concerts and ESPACIO Fundación Telefónica in Buenos Aires, Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten Marl,  DRHA2010 Festival of Sensual Technologies in London, the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival NYCEMF; the SIGGRAPH Asia in Yokohama, the Re-New Festival in Copenhagen; the New Interfaces for Musical Expression Conference NIME in Oslo (2011); LEAP Space for media Art Berlin, ISEA 2011 Istanbul, at 55th Venice Biennale Prohelvetia – Salon Suisse, Audio Art Festival Cracow, CMMR Symposium on Computer Music in Plymouth and Marseille, Miami New Media Festival, SKOP Festival Frankfurt, at Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center New York City, Nabta Art Center Cairo, Kunstquartier Bethanien Projektraum Berlin, at the MAC- Museum of Contemporary Art Bogotá, at MADATAC 07 Madrid, IK Foundation Vlissingen, at the Künstlerforum Bonn and more recently at Digitale Duesseldorf.
