Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1941. Multidisciplinary artist.
She studied piano at the Royal Music Conservatory, Madrid, and Politics Sciences at Madrid University.
From 1973 to the present, he carries out diverse works with a multidisciplinary nature, focusing his work on the development of the concept of Installation, as an In Situ work, in specific large-scale spaces. Of particular note are those made for museums and art centers: the Vostell Museum in Malpartida, Museum Wiesbaden, Museum Moderner Kunst in Vienna, Frauen Museum in Bonn, DA2 in Salamanca, Koldo Mitxelena Kulturunea, Art Center La Regenta (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), MUSAC (León), Tabacalera (Madrid), ZKM (Karlsruhe) and CAAM (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria).
From the beginning of the 1980, she expanded her activity to the performance realized in museums as Landesmuseum (Mainz), MNCARS (Madrid), MACBA., (Barcelona), IVAM (Valencia), TEA (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), MACA (Alicante), Museu d’art in Girona, Tabacalera (Madrid), ZKM (Karlsruhe) and CAAM (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria).
From 1989 she combined the production of individual works with others works done in co-authorship with the musician and multidisciplinary artist José Iges, and highlights include works as Sound and Radio Art for radio stations like RAI, ORF, Radio France, YLE, ABC of Australia, WDR of Cologne and RNE, Sound and Visual Installations, Performances and Intermedia Concerts.
She has combined since 1977 the realization of her artistic production with some teaching activities, being since 1991 to 2001 teacher of the faculty of Fine Arts of the Salamanca University
In 2010 Concha Jerez received the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts.
In 2015 she was awarded the National Prize of Fine Arts.
In 2017 she was awarded the Velázquez Prize of Plastic Arts
In 2018 received the Gold Medal of Fine Arts from the Government of the Canary Island.
