Freijo is proud to present Antuan Rodriguez’s first solo show of in the gallery, which is also the artist’s first exhibition in a gallery in Madrid, Spain. The exhibition groups 15 pieces from the last 12 years of his artistic production, in which his basic creative platform has been – and continues to be – political art.
Antuan artworks can slip simultaneously through two perspectives of time. On one angle he bears the complex circumstance of our present, the contradictory story of Western history where we are today.  At the same time he collects fragments from a mangled past excluded by history, creating objects and installations of unstable harmony. For him the work of art hold no utopias but ideas made real and imposed on the world through the temporary harmony of art.
ANTUAN’s  expressive itinerary, conceives the interpretation of human thought and reality plunging energy in the combination of ideas, as he combines variants of three concepts; myth, metaphor and archetype in his artworks.  This pluralistic perspective itself constitutes a middle-ground between created and realist approaches to meaning, leaving its viewers with more paths to follow and tales to spin.

In 1998 he moves to Spain and receives a Fine Arts Scholarship granted by Bancaja Foundation, Valencia, Spain. He did a installation about AIDS, the work is in the Valencia Politecnica University collection.
In 2016-2017 the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami) shows his retrospective exhibition The Other Dimension, in Art Basel Miami, Art Exhibition and Events.
In 2010 he designs and produces Base Paint, Epic, Miami, FL, during Art Basel Miami Beach, a monumental humanitarian project through which Caribbean artists intervened to decorate tents used as classrooms for Haitian children victims of the earthquake. The project was also presented and widely acclaimed in Port Au Prince.
