Freijo Gallery and Galería Emma Molina (GEM, Monterrey, MX) present a joint project in two different spaces: Galería Freijo, Zurbano 46, 28010 Madrid and GEM Galería Emma Molina, Temporary space, Jovellanos 6, 28014 Madrid.

Artists: Concha Jerez, Marcelaygina, Maribel Domènech, ORLAN, and Raquel Manchado.

In today's world, alliances are essential. Their realization reflects a will and passion that can be compared to those that inspire art. In this context, these two galleries are collaborating on a joint project and, in turn, partnering with a gallery from Barcelona (Rocío SantaCruz). In this way, bridges are built, and artistic expressions become universal, transcending barriers and connecting people on a global scale.

Gynocriticism, a term coined by Elaine Showalter in her essay "Toward a Feminist Poetics," was originally conceived as a critical study of women's literature, designed to go beyond denouncing patriarchal domination. It focuses on unearthing and creating a tradition—and thus a subculture—that belongs to women and revolves entirely around them, free from the influence of conventional male literary codes.

This exhibition shares the same interest through the works of six very different, radical women. Their works, ranging from conceptual and performative to contemporary, address a similar discourse but in the realm of visual art.
