Bartolomé Ferrando
Born in 1951 in Spain.
Lives and works in Valencia, Spain.
Performer and visual poet. He studied music and Hispanic philology. He is a professor of performance and intermedia art at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He was the founder of the magazine Texto Poético.
As a performer he has participated in festivals and meetings held in Europe, Canada, United States, Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Chile, Japan, Korea, Singapore, China, Vietnam and Israel.
He has coordinated international action art festivals at the Institut Valencià d'Art Modern (IVAM), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS) and the Espai d'Art Contemporani de Castelló (EACC).
He was part of the groups Flatus Vocis Trio, Taller de Música Mundana and Rojo; and more recently of the collectives SIC and JOP dedicated to the development of creative practices located halfway between music, poetry and action art.
He has published the following essays: Hacia una poesía del hacer, La mirada móvil, El arte intermedia, El arte de la performance, Elementos de creación, Arte y cotidianeidad: hacia la transformación de la vida en arte and De la poesía visual al arte de acción. Also the books of poems: Trazos, Propuestas poéticas, Jocs, Valencia, En la frontera de la voz, Latidos, Nudos de viento and Soledad magnética. He has also made several recordings on DVD, MC, LP and CD.
