Asins & Bertrand - Geometric Variations
Elena Asins & Ode Bertrand
from March 2, 2024 to May 18, 2024
Geometric Variations highlights the careers of two artists, Spanish-born artist Elena Asins, a pioneer of computer coding applied to art, and French-born artist Ode Bertrand, key figure of Geometric Abstraction, in a face-to-face scenography: two views, two ways of perceiving modernity are called into question and dialogue with each other.
This stimulating new reading of the work of Elena Asins in dialogue with the works of Ode Bertrand highlights their aesthetic complicity, their common subjects but also their contrasts. This juxtaposition of works makes it possible to observe the differences in artistic achievements from a pictorial point of view. Both perceptible and intangible, their research leading to a brilliant creativity rests on a certain ambiguity between the concrete and the unspoken, between statism and movement, at the crossroads of lines.
A graphic demonstration astutely calibrated of the infinite number of compositions and visual effects that can be achieved by the pure drawing of a line, offering a vibrant geometric conversation.
