Shapes. Art and Method

"Space, Architecture and Sculpture. Two trades that I have alternated since the activity of Grupo 57 ceased in the mid-sixties of the last century. With attitudes, influences and continuous transfers between both tasks. Full/empty, mass/space, two "materials" that are modelled and made manifest in both arts. Permeability exists between the two disciplines because geometry, measurement, internal formal relations... intersect in the formal/spatial play of the work under the light.
Space, this generic term, is very present in my work, perhaps because it opens new paths as it brings together new dimensions linked to time, the discursive, the sequential. The work demands displacement; it demands to go through it, to surround it, to scrutinize its front and back, the previous and the later and thus understand its intrinsic relations, its geometries. (…)
The design. For me it is another parallel dedication to Art; I believe it to be very related to the problems of form, and at the same time dependent on materials and industrial processes, this referring to both architecture and objects of use, because in both cases its necessary use is taken care of."[1]
