January 16, 2025
Bartolome Ferrando, together with Alejando Ocaña, Antoni Soler and Álvaro Terrones will be part of the second session of the ICS (“X”) Performance Sessions of the Fundació Caixa Castelló.
Next Saturday, January 18th, 7.30 pm. Sala Sant Miquel of the Fundació Caixa Castelló.
The Performance Sessions of the Fundació Caixa Castelló have been held annually since 2014 in the Sala Sant Miquel de Castelló, consolidating as a stable appointment in the cultural program of the foundation. These days focus on action art and experimental poetry, offering a space for emerging and established artists to present their performative proposals.
The encounter between the artists Bartolomé Ferrando, Álvaro Terrones, Alejandro Ocaña and Toni Solera is an intergenerational appointment that orbits around the performance subject of the Facultat de Belles Arts de Sant Carles of the Universitat Politécnica de Valencia and that is expressed in the Sala Sant Miquel of the Fundació Caixa Castelló. This action highlights ten years of collaboration between the two institutions through the work of professors Bartolomé Ferrando and Álvaro Terrones, together with former students of the Faculty, Alejando Ocaña and Toni Solera, with whom the Fundació Caixa Castellón has collaborated over the last season.
Bartolomé Ferrando, a leading figure in experimental poetry and action art, will present his work entitled Phonetic-sound poems, a form of poetic expression that emphasizes the sounds, rhythms and musicality of the voice, deconstructing language beyond its conventional semantic meaning. This type of poetry explores phonetics -the sounds of words-, rooted in the Valencian community and complemented by improvised music methodologies. Ferrando uses the voice as an instrument to create auditory effects and sensations, moving away from the transmission of an explicit message.
