David Beltrán will be part of the group exhibition "Seeing Italy and Living. Experiences of "the sublime" in contemporary Cuban art".

A constant in David Beltrán's work is the reflection on broken architectures - viewed as architecture in its double meaning of container and content.
In this repertoire, the fragment dominates with intrinsic value, which is why Beltrán perceives Giovanni Paolo Pannini as an artist capable of speaking to our contemporaneity from the force embodied by the vestige. The abundant craqueadas of the painting with an archaeological bias mimic the trampling of the cities in which they exist today, but they could also be conceived as a kind of punctum capable of reconstruction, since they have overcome time and decadence to establish themselves as beauty.
This curatorship extends primordial connections to the exhibition "Journey to Italy. Landscape and memorabilia", and will be displayed in the second museographic segment of the Permanent Hall of Italian Art, constituting a tribute to the Italian landscape tradition and celebrating the magnificent heritage that has enriched international art.
"Seeing Italy and Living. Experiences of "the sublime" in contemporary Cuban art", curated by Niurka Fanego, will be on view from 25 May to 15 September at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Havana.
