Fotonoviembre dedicates its 17th edition to a feminist movement in Spain in the 1970s
The International Photography Biennial Fotonoviembre will open its 17th edition on 17 November at the TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes with an extensive programme of activities ranging from exhibitions, workshops, screenings, round tables and performances.
The backbone of this edition, which is presented under the direction and curatorship of Violeta Janeiro Alfageme, will be the exhibition ¿Cuánto dura un eco?, in which visitors will be able to see works by artists represented by Freijo Gallery such as Marisa González - recipient of the Velázquez Prize for Visual Arts - Maribel Domenech, Darío Villalba or Marcelo Brodsky.
¿Cuánto dura un eco? brings together photographs of the socio-political mobilisations of the 1970s in which women were present, in order to fully explore the political and social dimension of photography and film in relation to this feminist apprenticeship, the subalternity of the movement in political parties and the struggles of those who wanted to make it compatible with a class identity.
