Fait accompli? Memory, critical citizenship and contemporary art.

The Complejo Cultural Los Pinos presents visitors with this immersion into the personal rooms of Mexico's presidents and their families in an extensive chapter of our history. The exhibition, curated by Guillermo Santamarina, includes works by our artist Gina Arizpe, among others.
With this experience interposed by the works of what we identify as plastic, visual and conceptual art, its creators propose (or enunciate) with their reflections and personal points of view, diverse approaches to the historical and sociological framework of our complex national reality.
Thus, with the imaginative force of these guests to what we now identify as the House of the People of Mexico, in an experience that significantly relates architecture and the context of an intriguing past, we share with you, in the narrative profiles of each of these assemblages: chronicles of socio-political fluctuation; characteristic elements of the relations of the neoliberal economy with the consequent replications in the psychology behind leadership or anaesthetising culture; or with social resistance in the face of imposed subjugation and adversity; or the systematic weakening of citizen dynamics by consumerism and corruption.
