Opening of ‘Resignifications’ by Concha Jerez & José Iges at CGAC

Concha Jerez and José Iges open their exhibition ‘Resignifications’ at the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea (CGAC) in Santiago de Compostela. With relevant individual careers, Jerez and Iges have been developing, for more than thirty-five years, a joint production that is contaminated and enriched by the difference of their respective languages.
Through still and moving images, everyday sounds, diverse objects, interviews, works devised for radio, video performances, interactive pieces and documents from the media, both compose immersive visual and sound landscapes that analyse, strain, describe and, at times, parody the world around us.
As part of the exhibition, today Saturday 15 at 12 noon, the artists have performed Paisajes de 4'33', an intermedia performance in which the sounds come from different places and times, taking shape in a single space that they share with specific actions.
