CONGRATULATIONS to Concha Jerez for the VELAZQUEZ PRIZE

Concha Jerez (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1941) is one of the most recognized creators in contemporary Spanish art. Considered a pioneering artist in the use of technology to talk about issues always related to marginalization, Jerez has been awarded the Velázquez Prize for Plastic Arts 2017 for "the rigor and commitment of its risky aesthetic approaches, developed for more than five decades both in Spain and in the international context, as well as the innovative nature of its intermediate proposals ".
