David Beltrán in Cuba

David Beltrán presents ‘Re-actions’ at the Artis 718 gallery in Havana, Cuba. The exhibition presents a review of the artist's career through works such as Arqueología del Color (Archaeology of Colour) and Geometría Oculta de los Pensamientos (Hidden Geometry of Thoughts).  As The Cuban Oberver Beltrán points out, ‘he proposes a painting that is not limited to the two-dimensional plane, but extends towards space, time and light. His approach is in direct opposition to the idea of painting as a surface closed in on itself. Here, the image emerges as a field in permanent mutation, where the pigment does not submit to the will of form but oscillates between the organicity of the spontaneous and the precision of a gaze that dissects layers, processes and structures’.

In addition, the catalogue of the exhibition curated by Niurka Fanego ‘Viaja a Italia. Landscape and memorabilia’ in which David Beltrán's work “La perspectiva de las ruinas”, 2024, participated.
