Elena Asins in Woman Art House
January 3, 2020
In Woman Art House they end the year by presenting our artist Elena Asins, a great reference in contemporary art in 1960s Spain, pioneer of Computer Art and new technologies -in conjunction with conceptual art-, she managed to open a space for a new language in a society that completely rejected this type of art in the Spanish sphere.
As the author of the article, Beatriz Pereira, writes, "Elena Asins became a pioneer of computer-assisted art, an investigation which she did not abandon throughout her career: 40 years betting on her experimental nature, a particularity that led her to be baptized as an "artist on the sidelines", since, far from adhering to the rules that governed the art of that time, Asins was a multifaceted artist who moved between geometric abstraction and minimalist aesthetics, with monochrome works based on digital language."
